We named it Ajarakh from ‘azrak’ - the Arabic word for ‘blue’ , as indigo blue happens to be one of the predominant colours in Ajrak printing intertwined with intricate geometric patterns and designs. Similar artworks also adorn many walls and murals of ancient Indian palaces and doors, such as the one in the cover page. This is a continuation of our series CHAUKHAT, celebrating the ancient, vibrant doors of India.
